Another crop of constables has graduated in Tasmania today at Hobart’s Police Academy where they completed a 28 week training course.
Acting Commander of Education and Training Brenda Orr (main photo) has wished them on their way into the Police Force.
“21 recruits will be posted across the state to Devonport, Burnie, Launceston, Bellerive, Hobart, Glenorchy and Bridgewater, this is a diverse group aged between 18 and 42.”
Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, congratulated the new constables.
“For the past 28 weeks, these 21 trainees have worked tirelessly to successfully reach graduation day and achieve their dream of becoming a police officer,” Minister Ellis said.
“After honing their policing skills, with both skills‑based training and hands‑on experience, our new constables will jump straight into our 24-hour Police stations and bolster our frontline.
“From health care works to farmers, our new officers have come from all walks of life, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience with them.
