Meeting and public talk of the Burnie Historical Society

The Burnie Historical Society will be hosting their next meeting on Thursday the 21st of May at the Burnie Library (first floor – entry via Little Alexander Street), from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Guest speaker at our next meeting is Graeme Broxam.  Graeme a scientist by education, recently retired from a career in Intellectual Property to concentrate on his joint obsessions with preserving maritime history and historical research and publishing.

Graeme is a Life Member of the Maritime Museum of Tasmania; he is currently Secretary of the Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania, and his Navarine Publishing has made a significant contribution to publicising Australian maritime history for over thirty years.

This presentation draws on a forthcoming book By Sea and Air: The Holyman Fleets due out later this year.
