Candidate Information Evening
Ever thought about representing your community as an elected member?
If you’re interested in learning more about local government and what’s involved in becoming a councillor, you’re invited to attend a free Candidate Information Session ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
Hosted by Burnie City Council General Manager Shane Crawford, the session will cover the role of local government, how councils make decisions, and what you need to know before nominating.
Tuesday, 21 July 2026 at 6 pm to 7 pm at the Burnie City Council Chambers, at 80 Wilson Street, Burnie.
Whether you are seriously considering nominating or simply curious to learn more, everyone is welcome to attend.
No RSVP is required – simply come along on the night.
