DO YOU LOVE OUR LITTLE PENGUINS?

Then maybe you should consider becoming a volunteer guide at Burnie or Stanley for the 2026 – 2027 Season.

Our volunteer group offers free tours every evening from October to March, with volunteers working on a weekly or fortnightly roster. No prior experience is necessary; all we ask is for a willingness to work outdoors and help visitors learn about our amazing local wildlife. Since we operate within the community, we also prefer our volunteers to have a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.

If you are over 16 and interested in learning about penguins while sharing your knowledge with visitors, this is your chance to become part of our team.

Our training program includes an introduction to Little Penguins, how to interact with visitors, and guidelines for safe guiding. The training is free, and no previous knowledge of penguins is required.

For more information about the training schedule and location, or to register your interest, please call Evelyn at 0437 321 958
