FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH
The Bloomin' Tulips Wynyard Foreshore Markets - from 8am to 2pm along the East Wynyard foreshore. The market showcases local produce and crafts, including jams, cakes, preserves, secondhand goods, plants, bric-a-brac, and much more.
THURSDAY 18th OCTOBER
An Evening with Samuel Johnson – Held at the Otis Room, Burnie, this event features live music and prizes, in an effort to raise funds for Love Your Sister, a charity set up by much loved Australian actor, unicyclist and all-round legend, Samuel Johnson who lost his sister Connie in September 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The evening will feature live music by Clinton Hutton and many prizes.
SATURDAY 20th OCTOBER
Cherry Blossom Celebration - Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden will host a celebration of the Cherry Blossom on Saturday 20th October 10am to 3pm.
There will Japanese inspired displays, Taiko Drummers, Bonsai demo, tea ceremonies and food will be available. Adults $12, concession $10 children free, cash at gate required.
The Big Sing - The Big Sing is a free public workshop bringing community together to create a mass choir for all ages where you will learn three songs run by vocal pros. This will be held on Saturday 20th October at the Burnie Town Hall 10am – 5pm. Register you spot at encoreperformingartsstudio.com or call Encore Performing Arts Studio on 6432 3919. The Workshop will be followed by a Vocal Showcase performed by local choirs, guest artists and Burnie’s own MASS choir from 6.30.pm. Entry by donation.

Burnie Blues and BBQs - It will be a family friendly day full of quality music from some of Tasmania’s best blues acts and amazing food from some the country’s best professional slow cooked BBQ experts. All profits from the day will be going to the amazing Tasmanian charity Rural Alive and Well Inc. (RAW Tas). RAW is a non for profit organisation helping individuals, families and the community through mental health issues with a focus on suicide prevention.
Circular Head Drought Relief Fundraiser – A family fundraiser held at Trawmanna, Smithton. There will be live music by Gina Timms and local musicians. A car boot sale, a lawnmower race, childrens races, emergency vehicles display, food and drink stalls and Ritchie Wells and his Bullock Team. 10am – 4pm, adults $15 / Family $30 / Children $2 / Carboot participation $30 per person
SATURDAY 26TH OCTOBER
Where’s your head at? Where's Your Head @? 2018 is an alcohol free event including kids activities, hot food stalls, and Pitstop Health Checks and a great night of top class entertainment. The evening event runs from 4:30-11:30pm at 73 Mella Rd Smithton admission is FREE for under 18's, $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners.

Great Gatsby Cocktail Party – In support of the Ronald McDonald House Hobart, Peguin Surf Club and One Ageny are holding a Gatsby Cocktail Night. Entry prices are $70 (includes one free cocktail and canapes), entertainment for the night is Clinton Hutton and Mick Temby Music, MC is Matt Grice of One Agency and Guest Speakers Kimberly and Mitchell Stokes will also be attending for a great cause! South Riana Halloween Party - Halloween will be coming to South Riana on Saturday 27th October at the South Riana Memorial Hall, 7.30pm until late. There will be a live DJ, games, bar facilities and so much more fun for all ages. Tickets $5
Emu Bay Lions Club: Giant Book Fair - the biggest book fair in the state, featuring over 35,000 books. We have an incredible range of books, right up to latest releases in excellent condition. Patrons just stack their books and we measure the height of the stack and the cost is $1 per 2 cm. The best way to stock up your bookshelf! We also have games, DVDs, CDs, jigsaws, sheet music and more. There is also a large collection of collectible books including historical, vintage and out of print books. These are separately priced, but at very reduced costs. It is our Lions Club's main fundraising event of the year and all proceeds go back to the community.

School of Special Education North West Masquerade Ball - Held at the newly refurbished Burnie Central Town House. Tickets $60 includes a free drink on arrival , supper and entertainment.
