DoMaur Productions presents ‘On the Beach’
DoMaur Productions will be bringing Nevil Shute’s ‘On the Beach’ to life on their stage at West Park Playhouse on Friday the 21st of August until Saturday the 29th of August.
On the Beach (1957) by Nevil Shute is a post-apocalyptic novel set in Melbourne, Australia, following a nuclear war that has destroyed the Northern Hemisphere. As deadly radiation drifts south, characters face inevitable death with quiet dignity, engaging in daily routines, relationships, and acceptance of their fate.
Adapted for the stage by Tommy Murphy, commissioned by the Sydney Theatre Company, On The Beach the Play had its first performances in October 2023 and this is the first performance of the work since then.
