Umina Park Intergenerational Portrait Art Competition
Are you creative, enjoy art, or looking for a meaningful community project? Umina Park Aged Care in Burnie is inviting local artists, students and community members to take part in our Intergenerational Portrait Art Competition as part of Seniors Month celebrations.
This special competition is about bringing generations together through art. Participants will have the opportunity to meet one of our residents, hear their life story and create a portrait inspired by the person they meet.
This year we have introduced an Open Age Category, welcoming artists of all ages to be involved. The competition will run from 27 July until 5 October 2026, with all entries showcased at the Burnie Library throughout the month of October, to celebrate Seniors Month.
The Open Age winner will receive a $500 cash prize, with prizes also available across our student categories. The competition is proudly supported by The Honourable Premier Jeremy Rockliff MP, with sponsorship contributing towards the competition prizes, and the Mayor of Burnie will be joining our judging panel.
You do not have to be a professional artist; we are looking for people who are passionate about creativity and interested in connecting with the amazing people who call Umina Park home. To find out more information, view the competition details or download an entry form via the Umina Park Burnie, OneCare Facebook page.
Help us celebrate the stories, memories and experiences of our older generation through the power of art.
