Police are appealing for information about a spate of deliberately lit grass fires around the Bridgewater, Herdsmans Cove and Gagebrook areas on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Waterbombers joined ground crews in protecting homes as the flames tore through around six hectares, destroyed fencing and menaces homes.
A 16 year-old boy has been arrested in relation to a blaze on Lamprill Circle and Holloway Drive and will face the children’s court after receiving conditional bail.

Investigations into other fires lit in the area continue.
