The Devonport Show public holiday in November could moved to another date, depending on the outcome of a survey of local businesses.

The last Devonport Show was held in 2017, but the city and surrounds still enjoy the public holiday associated with, now know locally as Devonport No-Show Day.

However, the Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry has surveyed members on the possibility of moving the date and if so, to when.

Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman has previously stated the council doesn’t want to loose the holiday, but it open to moving it.

Chamber president Claire Connelly says the closeness to Christmas isn’t ideal for retailers but there’s a few options.

Burnie still has a show with an associated public holiday, Circular Head has the Friday of Agfest as a holiday and the West Coast also observes Burnie Show Day.
