A 22 year old Clarendon Vale man is on multiple charges including arson and aggravated burglary, over a house fire in Tasmania’s south last night.
The fire started at Lune River just after 6pm last night (Wednesday), crews finding the building on Lune River Road fully engulfed in flames and unable to be saved.
A crime scene was declared, with forensics officers and a fire scene examiner on site this morning.
Information to police identified a vehicle leaving the house at around the time the fire started.
A Holden station wagon was intercepted, with the 22 year old driver arrested, and several items allegedly stolen from the home recovered.
The man was bailed with strict conditions to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 12 January, 2025.
