A 49-year-old man from Tasmania’s northwest has been charged after being caught drink driving, five times over the legal limit.
Police intercepted a vehicle in Wynyard on Monday at about 1.10pm after it swerved and hit a kerb.
The driver was breath tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.268.
He has been charged with drink driving offences and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
“Tasmania Police will continue to focus on the fatal five contributors to road deaths and serious injuries, which includes drink driving,” said Senior Sergeant Darren Woolley.
Anyone who witnesses drink driving, or any other dangerous driving behaviour should contact police on 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
