The line-up has been announced for this year’s Mid-Winter Festival at Willie Smith’s in the Huon Valley.

The milestone tenth edition will take place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th July, and features all the old favourites, from the ancient pagan tradition of Wassailing, to the ritualistic burning of giant effigy Big Willie.

The kids’ stage will be headlined by Teeny Tiny Stevies, with Brisbane band Long John’s bringing bluegrass to the main platform on Saturday night.

The festival is also home to the Storyteller’s Cup, which harks back to the tradition of passing stories through spoken word.  There’ll also be morris dancers, a bush dance, and for the first time – Drag Story Hour.

“The lineup for our milestone tenth festival exemplifies our commitment to renewal and inclusivity, ” said Event Manager Rachel Valentyne.

“We are thrilled to offer extensive family entertainment, a dynamic arts program, and an awe-inspiring light installation, bringing the festival into the light as we celebrate this special anniversary.”
