Launceston’s Foo Fighters concert has been credited with adding $7.8 million to Tasmania’s economy.

Premier Rockliff dropped into Tamar Ridge and Pirie Cellar Door where he ran through the latest Visitor Economy Outlook Report.

“Growth in visitors to Tasmania in the winter months which is fantastic, 50 000 additional (airline) seats between Hobart and the mainland, some $3.6 billion of investment that people make in Tasmania when they visit.”

He’s also mentioned tourists are splashing the cash.

“We’ve returned to pre covid levels but our yield is higher, that means people are coming to Tasmania and spending more.”
