Expressions of interest from anyone wanting to become a tour guide at the iconic Table Cape Lighthouse will close on Friday.
The Waratah-Wynyard Council has put the call out for someone who loves history and wants what could be one of the the best office views in the world.
The heritage listed lighthouse was built in the 1880s and first lit in 1888 and in 2010 became the first Commonwealth owned lighthouse to open for public tours.
Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Mary Duniam says the council’s looking for an enthusiastic tour operator who can demonstrate a commitment to sustainable tourism practices, preservation and the interpretation of the lighthouse’s historical significance, with the ability to create engaging and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages.
Councillor Duniam says the applications aren’t limited to individuals and community groups or existing businesses are also invited to apply.
