Risdon Road tragedy
Police say there's no indication alcohol or drugs played a part in a road fatality in suburban New Town on Tuesday afternoon.
A 59-year-old North Hobart man couldn't be revived after his van rear-ended a taxi on Risdon Road and then hit the overpass near Park Street.
The taxi driver and his four passengers weren't seriously hurt.
Inspector Andrew Keane telling Seven it's tragic.
"Early indications suggest the driver of that vehicle has suffered a medical condition which caused him to lose consciousness," he said.
"As a result of that, he has collided into the rear of a taxi before rebounding and colliding with the bridge."
