Destruction of General Store with a chainsaw

A Middleton man has been charged following a damage incident at the Middleton General Store.

Police responded to reports of a man cutting fuel hoses at the Channel Highway store.

Police attended and took a 53-year-old Middleton man into custody. He has been charged with Unlawfully possess dangerous article in a public place and Injure property. He has been bailed to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

No one was injured and the parties were known to each other.

It comes after police investigated investigated a serious assault at a Middleton residence on the 18th of November where a man was injured by a chainsaw.
