House prices and rent increase on the Coast

Median house prices on the North-West Coast have risen by 22 per cent over the past 12 months to an average of $386,000 according to the latest data from the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania.

The REIT's quarterly report also shows house prices on the Coast for the September quarter increased by 4.1 per cent to a new higher average of $397,500.

House prices at Latrobe and Kentish are higher than the major population centres of Devonport and Burnie.

Latrobe has the dearest house prices on the Coast with an average of $547,500, while the cheapest real estate is at Circular Head, where the average house price is $320,000.

Latrobe also has the dearest rentals at $360 a week, marginally ahead of Devonport and Burnie at $350 a week, while Circular Head is again the cheapest with $320 a week.
