Christian's fireworks do the trick for Canes
All-rounder Dan Christian's bat might have frustrated Tasmania in a tense Sheffield Shield draw at Bellerive last month but his 5-14 with the ball last night brought joy to the Hurricanes and a bumper Hobart crowd.
The right-armer had been waiting weeks to take the ball and cut through Adelaide Strikers' batting, helping the Hurricanes to an eight-wicket Big Bash League win.
Christian's return is the second best in BBL history, with the scalps of Strikers' skipper Brad Hodge for 55 and tail-enders Ben Laughlin and Liam O'Connor for ducks in a single over.
Last night's win puts the Hurricanes in equal second place on the BBL ladder, with two wins from four games.
The Hurricanes' next match is on Sunday at Bellerive against Sydney Thunder.
