Hobart Pizza shop target of arson attack

A popular pizza shop in Hobart's northern suburbs has been destroyed after what firefighters say was a deliberately lit blaze.

Dino pizza which has been in Claremont for more than 30 years was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at around 1am this morning.

Tasmania Police said the fire is being treated as suspicious and are investigating.

Owner Stephen Noble says he unknowingly did not have full insurance. 

"Insurance is looking to be a problem on the content side of things, I got all my compile and public liabilities through the Insurance Broker but it turns out the contents is not covered", said Mr Noble.  

$230,000 worth of damage has been caused to the business. 

Investigations continue.
