Dramatic rescue of stricken fishing boat off West Coast
There's been a dramatic rescue after a fishing boat was blown out to sea when it lost power and broke off it's anchor off Strahan on the West Coast.
Police received a distress call from the boat but could not locate the vessel.
Using a mobile phone police asked the occupants of the vessel to fire flares which led officers to the boat which was drifting quickly off Cape Sorell.
Police praised the owners of the fishing boat for carrying the proper safety equipment avoiding a costly large scale search operation.
