Tributes for Don
Tributes are flowing for Salvation Army officer Don Miller who's passed away aged 86.
He was well-known for his fundraising efforts around Hobart's pubs and clubs.
Salvos spokesman Brad Watson says there was far more to the man than tin rattling.
"A man that was married for 57 years, that had five kids and 15 grandkids, somebody who had helped to keep a few Salvation Army centres in the state open by managing them, in his retirement, mostly," he said.
Don will be laid to rest in a service at North Hobart's Elizabeth Street citadel on Monday at 10 am.
Fittingly, his family is requesting donations to the Salvos in lieu of flowers.
