World greatness beckons for Titmus
Olympic gold next year is within reach of Tasmania's Ariarne Titmus with only an American superstar in her way.
18 year old Titmus smashed the field in the 400 metre freestyle last night at the national championships to add to her Commonwealth record in the 200 metre on Tuesday.
Her dad, Steve, told Tasmania Talks, Ariarne just keeps getting better.
"Domestically, there's no one near her now and literally in the world the only person who's really standing in her way is the all time great Katie Ledecky from the United States. She works enormously hard at her training, looking after her diet, looking after her fitness and I'm in awe."
Ariarne's time in the 400 metre freestyle is only a few seconds shy of 22 year old Katie Ledecky who is a five time Olympic gold medallist.
