More housing up in flames
More public housing property will need tens of thousands of dollars worth of repairs after a suspicious fire at Gagebrook late on Monday night.
A burning home on Ashburton Road was reported to triple zero around 20 past 10.
Investigators will examine the property, which was vacant, on Tuesday.
It takes the number of properties destroyed or damaged by fire this week alone to three, after Police confirmed arson was behind a fire at a unit complex on Merrys Lane at South Launceston on Sunday night.
Rewards of up to $10,000 are on offer for information leading to the conviction of public housing firebugs.
Detective Sergeant Joe Riley has condemned the behaviour.
"These homes are valuable and they are required for people to occupy, so any time that a premises that could be used by the public is damaged, it's very disappointing to see," he said.
