A report will be prepared for the coroner following a fatal pedestrian crash in Hobart's CBD on Thursday night.
A 39-year-old woman from the UK died after being hit by a car at the intersection of Collins and Argyle Streets around 8:15.
Police say an unlicensed driver was behind the wheel of the NSW-registered Holden SUV involved in the crash.
The 53-year-old male driver apparently failed to give way, with inattention a possible factor.
Much of the block was cordoned off overnight as crash investigators examined the scene.
