World renowned TV chef Gordon Ramsay has set a new Guinness World Record after whipping up the world’s largest beef wellington.
Ramsay teamed up with American celebrity chef Nick DiGiovanni to create the worlds largest beef wellington which weighed in at a whopping 25.76 kg’s.
“First of all we’ve got to get that sear – no colour, no flavour,” Ramsay said to DiGiovanni about their creation.
“Then that duxelles, then the prosciutto, then the crêpes, and then of course that delicious flaky pastry.”
The record breaking wellington included 40 pounds (18.14 kg’s) of beef, layers of prosciutto, mustard, duxelles (which is a mince of mushrooms, onions and herbs) and wrapped in puff pastry.
The minimum weight they duo had to top was 20kgs and they topped that with ease.
And for anyone wanting to try the record breaking wellington, you can order a whole one at any table at one of Ramsay’s restaurants.
