Three years after their memorable stint on The Block, Rachel and Ryan Carr are back on screens, this time as the stars of their very own renovation series, Holiday Home Makeover, on Channel Nine.
A Family-Focused Renovation
The show follows the Sydney-based couple, both 39, as they transform their South Coast holiday home into a stylish retreat. With three young kids in tow, Everleigh, six, Mila, four, and Tommy, two, the project became a true family affair. “This is truly us,” Rachel says. “You’ll see the renovations, but also the chaos, the kids, and the fun.”
A Dream Years in the Making
The idea for the show began in 2023 after their time on The Block. “We felt we didn’t really get to show what we could do,” Ryan admits. This time, they set their own rules and a tight 14-week deadline. “The house was 90 minutes away, so we had to cram everything,” Rachel adds.
Pressure and Passion
The Carrs say the experience was worth it despite the time and budget constraints. The result? A heartfelt, beautifully filmed series that captures their creativity, determination, and love for design, all while juggling parenting and power tools.
